Abortion
Before you decide, get the facts
Understand the risks and make an informed choice
An abortion is a medical procedure performed with the intent to terminate a pregnancy. There are two primary methods of abortion: an in-clinic procedure known as the surgical procedure and the medical procedure, which is commonly referred to as the abortion pill. The method used varies from patient to patient and is chosen based on how far along an individual is in her pregnancy. This is typically determined by having an ultrasound performed.
The surgical procedure is used to terminate a pregnancy during the first or second trimester of pregnancy. The medical procedure, ingested orally, is an option in the first few weeks of pregnancy. Both types of abortion can pose different risks to the woman. It is important to learn all the facts before terminating your pregnancy. Make sure that you have given yourself the proper time and thought before making any decision.
If an abortion is something you are considering, call Boston Pregnancy Center to schedule an appointment.
